A Creole Southern Gothic Film

A lonely Creole woman’s life is bound to her flesh-eating garden. When Edette unexpectedly befriends a young girl before her next offering, she must decide whether to sacrifice her new friend or die alongside her beloved garden.

At its core, "The Garden of Edette" is a film about the intergenerational bonds between two Creole women forming a genuine friendship as they pass on the knowledge and legacy of a dying underrepresented culture. Our Director has Creole ancestry and by creating this film, we aim to preserve a space for Creole culture in cinema and help pass down a language that's being forgotten.
